There is a new app that is currently available – the ARDMS SKILLS App. What is it? What are the benefits? Why is your help needed?

The ARDMS SKILLS App
The ARDMS SKILLS app is a tool with quick quizzes across multiple specialty areas. Some of these include abdominal, ergonomic awareness, self-care, echocardiography, vascular, and more. Actually, there are currently six topics already available on the app and six more that are in the process of being developed. Each quiz is ten questions – nice and quick for when time is short. Once a question has been answered, the app will display whether it is correct or not. A brief explanation is also provided for each question. Some quizzes feature images or video clips. After a quiz is finished, the number of right and wrong answers are each displayed and whether the quiz was passed or failed.
What Are the Benefits of Downloading and Using This New App?
The app is a work in progress. Even so, it does serve an educational purpose, and eventually, ARDMS hopes to use it to help sonographers with their maintenance of certification (MOC). This tool will help with education and assessment for credentials. Starting in 2023, ARDMS is planning to make the quizzes found in the SKILLS app a requirement for MOC. This is not a requirement for 2022. However, you can expect ARDMS to release more information in the coming months. This is where you, the sonographer, come in.
ARDMS needs your help! In order to develop and refine the skills app, they are asking for your feedback. Seeing as this may be the future of maintaining credentials, it may be a good idea to let them know what you think and offer your suggestions.
